Washington Area Estimated Nondurable Goods Retail Sales

A Component of the Coincident Index


Retail sales of nondurable goods are a component of the Coincident Index. Retail trade includes establishments that are engaged in the sale of merchandise for personal and household consumption. Sales include merchandise sold by these establishments. Nondurable goods retail trade includes sales of those establishments primarily classified as general merchandise, grocery, gasoline, apparel, restaurants, drug, and liquor stores.

Data are adjusted for seasonal variation and converted to constant (1987) dollars.
