Washington Area, Estimated Durable Goods Retail Sales

A Component of the Washington Area Leading Index


Retail sales of durable goods is a component of the Leading Index.  Retail trade includes establishments that are engaged in the sale of merchandise
for personal and household consumption. Sales include merchandise sold by these establishments. Durable goods retail trade includes sales of those establishments primarily classified as building materials, motor vehicles, auto and home supply, furniture and home furnishings, and household appliances.

Data are adjusted for seasonal variation and converted to constant (1987) dollars.
